)
21" x 32.5" x 24"
Notes from the artist:

Mixed media

I worked on this piece steadily for three years (2017 to 2019)—by far the largest, most intricate project I’ve done.

There are many things in this piece that can’t be seen in these pictures.  For example: all the stores have interior views, seen through the windows and doors, as do many of the apartments.  This street scene is not an exact copy of the actual location. As I do in most of my pieces, I design it as I’m building it. This piece is designed to be similar to what the Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn looked like many years ago, before it became a “gentrified” neighborhood. Back then It was well-known as being a “working-class” neighborhood.  Many of the things I included are things that I still remember from visiting relatives who lived in Williamsburg when I was a kid. That was a long time ago. Things have certainly changed over the years.
